Uninstalling An App in an Android Tablet/Mobile.

After using an app for a long time, you may get bored and want to delete or uninstall that app. You may also want to uninstall an app because it is consuming a lot of space on your device, or have otherwise stopped working. There are some apps which give error messages when you try to remove or uninstall them. The error message is completely unusable and at that moment user thinks what went wrong when they had followed all the correct steps.

Also, there are many apps which come under administration category and demand the device's root privileges. Examples of such apps can be Screencast, Root Explorer, Root Uninstaller etc. On the other hand, there are some apps that may not require root privileges but the device automatically makes them the administrators. Example of such apps is Airdroid. When you try to uninstall such apps, the 'Uninstall button' under the 'Application manager' or Apps category is disabled. In such cases, you need to revoke the administrative privileges from the apps before you can uninstall them.

Here's what you need to do:

■On the device, tap the app drawer icon.
■Tap the Settings icon.

■Tap the Security option from the left pane.

■Tap the Device administrators option from the right pane.

■On this displayed window, tap to uncheck the checkbox representing the app that you want to uninstall.

■On the Device administrator confirmation box, tap the Deactivate button.

Once this is done, you can follow the steps below to uninstall the app normally.

■Tap the app drawer icon.
■Tap the Settings icon.

■Now tap the Applications manager option from the left pane.

■On the right pane, under the displayed list of installed apps, tap the one you want to uninstall.

■On the app's contextual window, tap the Uninstall button to uninstall the target app.

■Accept any confirmation box that appears on the screen.

Note: Uninstalling any app that has been made administrator of the device may cause serious issues. As a result your device may become unstable. Make sure that you know what you are ding before uninstalling any such app. Follow the procedure covered in this section at your own risk.
